Welcome to Sheffield City Walking Tours

I am Marcus Newton and I started Sheffield City Walking Tours in 2013. I have had the pleasure of guiding hundreds of visitors from countries all over the world around my home city. I offer a informative, interesting and fun walking tours

My “turn up and go” £5 per person morning guided tours explore Sheffield City centre on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday throughout the year. Please check my News & Updates page for the latest news on tour availability before making a special journey to join my tour.

I also offer prebookable afternoon tours to explore Sheffield’s beautiful countryside, parks and gardens.

I welcome group bookings and can provide custom itineraries for groups.

Sheffield is dramatically situated on  seven hills. My morning tour gently guides you through streets retaining their medieval footprint, to view the eclectic mix of wonderful attractions. You see the theatres, exquisite Georgian quarter, twin Cathedrals, superb Victorian town hall, monumental City Hall and vibrant ultra modern millennium quarter. As well as the major sites you will see Sheffield’s hidden gems, including the Old Synagogue.

My afternoon tours explore the urban and countryside areas of Sheffield. There is a varied programme of walks changing with the seasons.
All tours last approximately 90 minutes walking time and cost £5 per person, this includes the Docfest tours. Any afternoon tour associated travel costs are extra (a one day Sheffield City Bus ticket cost £4 per person. You can buy and use it on any bus in Sheffield, regardless of which bus company runs the service).

Doc/Fest Tours

On the 10,11 & 14 June I am operating special tours to celebrate the arrival of Doc/Fest in Sheffield. The morning tour is open to Doc/Fest lovers and the general public. Morning tours will depart at 10am (instead of 10.30am) from Tudor Square, calling at the Tourist Information Centre before taking customers on a special 90 minute tour route, finishing at The Showroom (alternatively customers are welcome to return to the Tourist Information Centre with me). In the afternoon at 16:00 a Doc/Fest exclusive tour will operate using the same route from Tudor Square. You can turn up on the day but to avoid disappointment, pre-booking is strongly recommended due to group size being limited to 20 people per tour. Please book via my online enquiry form. The cost of either the morning or afternoon tour is £5 per person, (cash sales only).

There will be no tour on the 15 June due to a group booking. Regular tours resume on the 16 June at 10.30am
